Welcome To My
BRANTNER - HOOVER
Family History Site

This site started in 2000 as simply a presentation of my parents' family history book, but it kept growing as a genealogical site. The book has been moved to a secondary spot in order to provide the genealogical data first.

I've chosen to present the data in group sheets, with pedigree charts and surname shortcut links to hopefully guide the visitor. Ancestral pictures, cemetery pictures, and obituaries have been added as primary source data.

The unselfishness of those who have generously contributed data, pictures, and obituaries to these pages is greatly appreciated.

I hope you find my site informative and useful as we preserve, celebrate, and share our family heritage. I covet your comments, questions, corrections and additions.

On April 22, the family of Doris Marie Brantner Maness will both morn her passing and celebrate her reunion with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her obituary and the details of her funeral and interment are found both here Doris's Obituary and at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home

NOTE: On April 5, 2012, I moved to Allen, Collin, Texas, part of the Dallas metroplex, and began a new chapter in my life. At age 76 I found it increasing hard to walk the slopes in New Mexico and do silly things like sawing down trees, clearing brush, and using my new weeder. So, I gave up my boy toys and a lifelong collection of "stuff," and moved to be near one of my daughters.

I chose "Parkview in Allen," an independent-living community of apartments, and entered a new regimen of daily living. I volunteer with one other as the Parkview welcoming committee, helping new residents learn about, and adjust to our community life. I love it!

I will never lose my love of genealogy and my involvement with other researchers. But I have retired from active research and the "thrill of the search." This page is testimony that my website is still alive, and I hope to keep it that way indefinitely.

QUOTATION OF THE MONTH, OR WHENEVER

Note: I've suspended my monthly contribution of the sage, wisdom, and observation of others as related to the agony/ecstasy of genealogy. I continue to promote "preponderance of the evidence" as a more logical goal than the elusive "truth" or "proof" that some think exists.
